O' the strongest Tamil with which the tongue feels
the nascent smell like the sweet red sugarcane!
O' the coolest Tamil that flows in the mouth
of the specially youthful girl, it is me!
Coming everyday and with your presence,
with the nectar of poem to compose
the beautifully coloured poem auspiciously,
you offer me the honourable efficiency!

மங்கையென் வாய்தவழும் தண்டமிழே! - மங்கலமாய்
வண்ணமெழிற் பாப்புனைய நாடோறும் வந்தே..நீ
பண்ணமுத மாண்பை வழங்கு!
