Obdurate Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Obdurate

Don't make me happy, don't make me sad.
Don't make me love you, because all love goes bad.
Don't give me that smile when I look yonder way.
My life would be better if the silence would stay.

It is a familiar obsession that stirs in my mind.
Love always starts out so loving and kind.
Don't tempt me with words of how different you are.
All women are poison that stays in the heart.

Death of a man begins with true love.
His dream of forever is played with, for fun.
Don't act like you hurt, because you are ice.
You'll give me a child, then stop sex at night.

Don't kiss my lips in a passionate play.
Take all of your comforts and just go away.
It's not totally the reason for my words up above.
It's just that I'm tired of lies;
And what women call love.
