October Poem by Katinka Havermans

October

Rating: 5.0

I am outside looking at the October colours
The wind is howling around me
The air is crisp and cool, chilly even
The leaves whirl as I stand there
I'm taking it all in, the red and yellow
It takes my breath away
Dusk is approaching fast, fading away the colours
Darkness comforts me like a blanket
A soft rain is starting to fall, drip, drip on the leaves
The smell is amazing, that earthly sent
I stay outside, in the rain and the wind in the dark
Autumn, I have missed you like an old friend

The season of Autumn gives coolness to most hearts, after the scorching sun in the past summer days, we all long for cooler days, even an Indian Summer perhaps....that we may have seen already. Like this morning, it was severely cold, but now after a couple of hours, the sun rays make the heart beats faster and our inner-being warmer. Dear Poetess, you created a brilliant piece of Autumn, I have enjoyed your dashing lines, a 10 for the vote. Thank you so much for sharing.
