Eden Poem by Katinka Havermans

Eden

White ships are sailing by
Through blue skies and clouds of white
Hundreds of birds fly
There is light, sunshine
They're wings, silver in the sky
In endless fields of green, purple and red
You are passing by
Walking in fields filled with anemones
You smile, there is no more pain, no cry
You look up and I know
You want to say: don't ask why
We must not ask why people have to die
A soft gentle breeze is blowing
You brush the hair from your eye
You laugh, and I can hear you
You pick a flower with a dragonfly
You turn around, I see your face
Your smile isn't a lie
I see a ship sail on
And you wave to me to say goodbye
