Ode To Blackwood Poem by Oluwatobi Olaide

Ode To Blackwood

Rating: 4.5

To make such as you
Water, portable spirit and food flavors
All from earth
BLACKWOOD! ! !
A liquid spray
You prompt
Elementary flows
Elementary grows
Magical process of transformation
Then comes the sleep of years
In a world of woods so black
So quiet
So dark
So still
Dreams of hills and valleys
Sleep so so long
Wake up transformed of soil and sun
BLACKWOOD! ! !
Thirst for more
Can i drink anymore! ! !
Downpour makes I moan
Eyelids threatens to close as i walk
The world in slow mo as sleep beckons again
BLACKWOOD! ! !
Liquid so black but wine
Held in my hand towards my head
Like a suicide mission
Cloudburst circle is all I see
I might drink and leave the world unseen
BLACKWOOD! ! !
Free myself and only I could see
At various warnings I still down you with joy
Who am I not to?
After all the gods already made me above 18
Alas! ! ! Blackwood the genius of MAN.
