Ode To Collaboration Poem by Doris Cornago

Ode To Collaboration

Rating: 5.0

Nobody else knows the secret formula for success
The bond between mother and daughter
Never breaks because they are
Tandem for whatever
Their hearts
Sets
Upon, be
There lifetime
Goals that needed
Collaboration, or a supplement
For another's dream, each one's support
To rely on, though stakes are high, both undaunted.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
No man is an island, I've always believed this. Throughout my life, I've needed someone who will stand by me, believe in me unquestioningly. This is the relationship within families, and specially developed between a mother and her daughter, even a father and his son. There is identification, one's strength magnified in the sibling of the same gender, weakness more so. Although I like to show my best face to other people an never show my vulnerability to hurt, with my daughter, I have been honest, to the point that she feels all that are in my heart and knows how my mind works. Whenever I doubt whether I can be brave enough, my daughter always tell me, 'I know you mom, you are better than the whole lot of them and you can take on anyone.' How is that for a lifetime fan?
