Ode To Victor Hugo (30) 'the Miserable'-The Prostitute And The Vestals Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

Ode To Victor Hugo (30) 'the Miserable'-The Prostitute And The Vestals

Pouting lower lip of the wise virgins confronting the foolish virgins accused of adultery.
The immomerial scorn of vestals for loos women,
is among the deepest instinct of respectable femininity.
And in the case of of the sisters it was enhanced by their religious vocation
that added to their purity and her infamy and ignominity.
Fantine was regarded as the foolish sick ex-virgin in the infirmary, with no immunity.
But She soon disarmed them with her gentle manners and humility.
And their hearts further touched by the fact of her maternity.
Being a mother, she said to them in a bout of fever:
'I have sinned, but when my child is restored to me,
it wil be a sign that God has forgiven me
It seems my daughter has restored my chastity,
freed me from adultery and immorality,
She is truly an engel, dear sisters; at that age
we have still not lost our wings, nor our opportunity.
Wishing that your sanctity surpasses my punity.'
