Of Life I Know Little - Poem by Francis Duggan

I look old and gray but i am not wise
And of life i know little i have come to realize
But we learn as we live something new every day
We never stop learning it does seem this way
The praises of genuises of human history many may sing
But she or he not born yet the one who knows everything
Knowledge on bushes and trees does not grow
And the more you do learn the more you realize so little you do know
That knowledge is infinite as a truism remain
And much of what we learn the memory does not retain
We were learning in life before we learned how to crawl
And that we never stop learning does apply to all
I may look old and gray but i am not wise
As i do know so little i have come to realize.
