Off To School Poem by David Harris

Off To School

It doesn’t seem that long ago
every morning I would be up
and off to school I’d go.
Now I wake up early
and it’s off to work I go.
The years have passed so quickly
almost as if they weren’t even there
and now my children have grown up
and it’s off to school they go.
They moan about the exams
the way we used to do,
but one day they will learn,
like we did not that long ago.
That our school is somewhere
where we wish we had stayed.
