Often There Is No Poem Poem by Shalom Freedman

Often There Is No Poem

OFTEN THERE IS NO POEM

Often there is no poem
Often there is only
A man needing to dream something
To say some words
That will take him from ‘No place'
To ‘Something done'

A small man a small poet a small poem
And a world outside filled with pain and beauty and longing
Waiting to be
Encountered again
in the morning.
