Old Age/Has Its Long Lonely Empty Idle Meaningless Days

Rating: 5.0

Old age
Has its long lonely empty idle meaningless days
It has days
Of waiting for and wondering about something to do
It has its days of nothing and nowhere and nobody
And all alone with no reason to be at all-

Old age
Has its very hard and meaningless days
And getting through them
Is sometimes so difficult
We wonder how we have gotten through them
When and if we have.

That is the solution. Also, acknowledge commentators. Not too hard is it?

This poem appeals to me. I can relate myself to the poet's thoughts expressed here, though I am not that old. :) I shall try to translate this poem into my mother tongue Bangla, giving due credit to the author.

Well conceived and nicely brought forth in persuasive expressions with conviction. An insightful piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing Shalom.
