Old Man Poem by Genevieve Surrender

Old Man

Rating: 4.9

The words
that you speak,
may be cynical,
or maybe sagely,
or maybe worldly,
but they are words
carefully sculpted
and arranged
by your mind.

You say
you are an old man.
You say
you are undeserving.
You say
you are a waste.
You say
you have failed,
and that you
have come to peace with that.

I said
I didn't believe you.

But I trust you.

So, how's this?
I believe you,
but I like you anyways
