On A Night Like This Poem by Dawn Novus

On A Night Like This

On a night like this night

I reach for the deep decadence of stirring inside

And hear the low thrum, even hum oh the background world

Falls into sync with the deep sound of still silence

The hym sighed at the cooling earth to
Soothe the soil of the day

Growing and growing away

Together the him and sigh take a slow sashay

Curling through the empty streets on a midnights foray

The cat, the owl, both wide eyed yet calm and safe

This their moment of all the hours of the day

Under this blanket of moon ray's

On a night such as this I wonder if the candlelight is the star

Or is it the darkness embracing its glow

Right it just flows and flows

Black velvet breeze light as a featherblows

This night inspires in a whisper a dream coming true

On the verge of a memory or a thought that is new

Ushered in on and through

Feels sumptuous in the soul of me

These morsels are mine

On a night like this night.
