On Being A Trend-Setter! Poem by Dr John Celes

‘How have you spent your earthly life? ’ Tell me.
Your life belongs to God primarily;
And have you spent your precious time ably?
Just introspect yourself and think deeply!

Did you give God enough of time in life?
Did you waste time in earthly problems rife?
Did you perform your duties well on earth?
Did you follow God’s code for you since birth?

Many of us have wasted our good time!
Sometimes, we spend a dollar for a dime;
Our wasted time could have been used wisely!
Did you give God the things you gave, nicely?

Your wasted time could have been used better;
Had you thought well, you wouldn’t be a debtor;
If you had given God more time in life,
May be, He would not have allowed much strife!

Our precious time is wasted lazily;
That time could have been used more happily;
Your talents weren’t nurtured for God’s purpose;
We cheated God but queries we much pose!

Success was lost because of planning ill!
Much time was wasted walking just uphill!
How much of time really went for God?
In vanity we live which looks so odd!

Forget your past but think of times ahead;
What pelf can we take back when we are dead?
To live a righteous life is sensible;
Why gain your hell by sins insensible?

Divide your time for mundane things and God;
God made the Sabbath day to rest and Lord;
Straighten your path and enter narrow gate;
Through God, all things are possible, not fate!

Do not worry about the things not done;
Just do those things meant to be done in sun;
Bury your sins confessing them to God;
Why should the God who loves you give you rod?

The things we waste are needed by others;
The time we waste could go for poor brothers;
Our life on earth could be lived much better;
So, make amends and be a trend-setter!
