On Either Side Of Atlantic Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

On Either Side Of Atlantic

Shorts and briefs, or half and underpants,
And trousers on far coast called just pants,
Pants once pantaloons were
That few may seem to care,
And yet, if a bosom heaves here, elsewhere it pants.
Indecent, or call it prurient,
‘But you see we are quite different'.

Americans, we all know, would like to differ. Though they also use the same language, English, they like to tinker with the spellings and meanings. Bold at times, and making little sense at others. Ass for them has two meanings, one a euphemism. A cockroach to them is just roach, cock not being acceptable. And the list is long.
