On Hearing Of Noella Favier's Illness Poem by Francis Duggan

On Hearing Of Noella Favier's Illness

A woman in a million and in her so much good
And caring and kind hearted she would help you if she could
Loved and admired in Selby and everybody's mate
But sad to say Noella has not been well of late.

Perhaps in her late thirties and barely past her prime
Her husband and two school going sons they need her at this time
To Dylan and Locklin a good mother and to Ian a loving wife
To she be ill it leaves them with a huge hole in their life.

A woman of many talents she inspires a cultural pride
She writes songs and plays piano and she is known far and wide
And to help out other people she goes out of her way
And all of those who know her good things of her have to say.

What the future holds for us who can profess to know
For she seemed healthy and contented when we last met two years ago
And now she's in her greatest fight a fight she has to win
But brave Noella Favier does not easily give in.

She's a woman in a million that's how 'twould seem to me
But she's not been feeling well of late how sad this life can be
She is loved by all in Selby for she has a 'heart of gold'
And lets hope she will recover and live on to be old.
