On Her Birthday (08-06-2019) Poem by Maymay Marie

On Her Birthday (08-06-2019)

The path worn for too many steps,
That landed on the divided hills,
Suddenly, a light adorned the darkness spots,
Where no one bothered to call and view.

Valleys, mountains, rivers, trees,
Everything took a single step,
To look on the passing light,
That brought good tidings in the dark.

The toast was set,
The laughter of butterflies, bees gave delight,
To a solitary place of akin,
Making the place full of stories known.

In a place where books brought,
Voices of conflicts and shouts beset,
Destroyed properties showed,
The heart was heavy to see them.

Tasks were divided, yet unfinished,
Troubles mind was in despair,
Yet the Holy Book reminded her,
That all things were just temporary to her.

In her reverie, the lady,
Thought of lights, books tasks, and kins,
All were loved and cared,
But nothing permanent stood, changes loaded.

Pasts came to a view,
That everything whether in dark or in light,
Were given according to Holy Book,
On her birthday, the lady reflected.
