I Need To Seek Him First Poem by Maymay Marie

I Need To Seek Him First

Rating: 5.0

One day as I sat in a hill looking the plain below,
I noted folks with different talks roaming around,
They were looking at what their eyes can fathom,
To fill their laughs and be satisfied.

Then, I brought and worked things to the homestead,
Forgetting the folks in a room I lived,
Giving enough space for the hands to work,
But there is something that lost my appetite.

Seasons passed the white hairs appeared,
In the head of once thirties bloom,
The seasons took flight without saying adieu,
Another hello was given for new chapters created.

The singing of lullaby, the laughter once embraced,
Were no longer claimed to the nest from rain,
The lines formerly uttered became memories,
The talks I used to sing faded.

Soon I dreamed of a white background I passed,
I rode in a van accompanied by some,
But there was one thing longed,
A song in the midst of clouds.

Suddenly, a watch returned to the year I made a vow,
That in everything, the One above must be the first,
To lean, ask, and kneel in things,
The One above need to seek above all things.
