On Mahashivaratri Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

On Mahashivaratri

Under the lurking shadow,
The shadow of Shiva,
Shiva Maheshwara,
Maheshwara,
Shiva Mahadeva
Standing I,
Standing I
Under the lurking,
The lurking shadow
Of Shiva,
Shiva Maheshwara,
The image,
The image of Shiva,
Shiva Maheshwara,
Dark and blue, blue and dark
Driven by Shiva lore,
Shiva Shankara lore.

Shiva with the three lines
On the forehead,
Into the rudraksha bracelets,
Shiva matted-haired
With the trishula and the kamandala,
Into the tiger loin cloth,
Trikaldarshi, Trinetra,
As a sadhu,
A sadhaka,
A yogi, a fakira,
A night-traveller,
A creamatorium-ground visitor,
A meditation-doer,
Shiva the Adi-shakti.
