On Monsters And Gods Poem by Sea Owl

On Monsters And Gods

Rating: 4.5

What am I? Am I a monster or a god?

I SEE everything in my life,
I KNOW all in my life,
I am EVERYWHERE in my life.
This means I am a god.

Yet...
Sometimes I'm blind to many things,
Sometimes my lack of knowledge is clear,
Sometimes I'm absent in crucial moments.
So I am not a god? What am I?

I also DESTROY hopes and dreams,
I also tell TRUTHS to devastate,
I also ENJOY moments of misery.
This means I am a monster.

Yet..
I have CREATED opportunities for others,
I have told many LIES to protect,
I've felt GUILT for upsetting others.
So I am not a monster? What am I?

In this small lapse of time
I CREATE, DESTROY, GROW and SHAPE
The paths of my life.
Am I a god?
Am I a monster?
Am I a monstrous god?
Am I a godly monster?

Maybe I am neither,
Maybe I'm just ME.

It is good that a man introspects, analyses his actions and makes necessary amendments according to the need of the hour. It would not be worthwhile to divide him into categories. He should remain a man in the first place.
