On Success Poem by Francis Duggan

On Success

What is success ask one other than me
On what it constitutes many would disagree
To be wealthy and famous to some is success
Though some others are not that easy to impress
The people who see success to most in a different way
For the wealthy and famous any admiration never display
People of kindness and compassion they only admire
And of singing their praises they never seem to tire
Not everyone looks up to those of great wealth and fame
But how boring we would be if in ways we all thought the same
The one successful to me may not be so to you
To agree on all things it would not be easy for to find any two
Success to every individual is a relative thing
As for me the praises of the kind and compassionate i only can sing.

'on relatives and success' could be your next poem's title, Francis

I love the message and the mechanics encouraging goodness, not the pedantic
