On The Brink Of Despair Poem by Francis Duggan

On The Brink Of Despair

In his early thirties gray through his dark brown hair
The man who does live on the brink of despair
On strong doctor prescribed medication for sanity of mind
Yet in his ways he is compassionate and kind
Sadly mental illness is ruining his quality of life
He does not have a lover or a partner or wife
Yet he never complains that life to him is unfair
On his own he contends with his dark moods of despair
He is one who will never know of renown
As one of the wealthy and successful of the town
In his early thirties gray in his hair of dark brown
He is one who often feels mentally down
And despite his life's crosses as stoic he does remain
And of his lot in life he does never complain.
