On The First Of May Poem by Francis Duggan

On The First Of May

Rating: 5.0

It is such a beautiful and sunny day
And for coastal south west Victoria quite warm for the first of May
A weather temperature high of a pleasant twenty degrees
With only the slightest of a mild coastal breeze
Blowing up the hill from the saltwater bay
And not one rain cloud in the sky of blue and gray
On such beautiful weather for the time of year
The warbling flute like notes of the magpies so pleasant to hear
And the magpie larks in the greening paddocks are calling pee wee
Where so much natural beauty is all around me
The last month of the calendar Autumn and Winter is near
But the sunny sky of any rain clouds is clear
Where from Earthly Utopia cannot be far away
It is so good to be living on such a nice day.
