On The Other Side Poem by Anna Banasiak

On The Other Side

Rating: 5.0

to Tomas Transtromer

barred birds
suffocate on freedom
they circulate in closed circles
slowly untangle from the net

I enter the boat swimming away
in a dark eternity
contorted faces grow from the trees
resound in dreams
they call me to return
into a dead forest

I'm searching for the exit
from the stone world
into the endless carnival

I fight for breath
