On The Run And All Alone Poem by Ryan Frenrey

On The Run And All Alone

Rating: 5.0

I'm lost from home
Out in the heat but feel cold and all alone
A feeling of abandonment without the wind
Lurking in disadvantage, pinpoints reach my shins
Hot water droplets of nervousness sting my back
My head starts spinning and things start to go black
I look up to the sun as something catches grip
My shadow disappears as the sun becomes eclipsed
Merciless thrashing as my flesh goes to mesh
Red spray paint and the drumming sounds of my chest
An desperate motivation that I need to survive
A fighting battle for two to stay alive
My nails dig deep aiming straight for the eyes
Covered in the mane of this mysterious disguise
Without sight the beast stumbles into the shadows far away
As my insides finally feel the warmth of the day
I get up and look up to the sun
Life's no longer eclipsed, life's no longer on the run
