On Wings I Fly Poem by Half Past

On Wings I Fly

chains of doubt
shackled to this life
weighed down with guilt
buried with strife
lead wings burdened
from lifes tough bouts
can't lift them high
to flap nor fly
dragging the ground
with remorse
crawling on hands and knees
with no recourse
just give me courage, oh god please
lift me up on ragged wings
make me fly
carry me past the hurt that stings
give me a nest in the sky
lift me up on high
mend this broken angels wings
give me your hand
and hear me sing...
of if i had wings...how i would fly
