Once, the sun shone all day
The birds sang, in a mood so gay
All round, the feeling of joy and happiness
Now, the gray clouds hang about dauntily
Can once happen twice?

Once, the crowds in the streets seemed merry
blending well with the dusty laid -down cherry
The traffic and human jam flowed beautifully
Now, everyone looks angry sad and gloomy
Can once happen twice?

Once, I enjoyed walking these dusty paths
smiling sheepishly, even when doing maths
nothing seemed hard, all was good n proper
Now, the flowers and candy turned to pepper
Can once happen twice?

Once, you stood by me in all endeavors
striding by, through it all, even on fours
My will to survive darkness and gloom, revived
Now, the rose-coloured lens gone, my hope frivelled
Can once happen twice?
