Once Upon A Time Poem by Pritam Bhowmick

Once Upon A Time

The seasons changed in the mind,
The links to joy did unwind,
The air was still,
Church bells did chime,
Once upon a Time.

The faces that greeted with looks so kind,
Their links to the heart one could easily find,
The night was still - a thoughtful mime,
Once upon a Time.

The seasons changed not, the faces are unkind -
Cupid's arrows to the dust they grind,
Statureless linking of souls - a crime,
Once upon a Time.

The bleeding soul speaks as church bells chime,
As with Vesper's call rise the slokas that rhyme,
"I perish again at Hymen's feet,

As had happened - Once upon a Time "!
