Tangible Poem by Pritam Bhowmick

Tangible

Tangible, hah!
A word, a bluff, a curse
And there comes the pain
For me to rehearse
While the heavens leak,
The image of hers I crush
And throw away,
But the radiant smile - a venomous adder
Tugs and makes the unreal real,
She is tangible for the time being.

The heavens stop leaking, the wind blows
And the grass in the park is
Greener to my liking,
The blurred sight clears
She walks in with a child
Holding her arms,
A stare at my being follows,
As if she didn't expect me there,
Then the clouds, the thunderless lightning and
The heavens leak again.

The rain burns,
I run to escape,
But I am scorched,
The sights blur once more,
The concocted reverie
Slams me into the pit of curse,
And soon comes the pain
For me to rehearse!
