One Poem by Barry Van Allen

One

Don't ever feel that I am setting you aside,
you are the reason for the things that I may do,
and do not worry that I may have found another,
for I have searched throughout my life for one as you.

Don't be annoyed If I'm not always there to hold you,
for my life permits me one place I may be,
but, in the shadows of the place that I am standing,
your's is the only solid image that I see.

I trust in you as much, as any man can trust,
I draw from you my strength to carry on,
I can't escape the distant patterns of the past,
without your tiny hand to lead me gently on.

So, when ' I Love You' seems too easy to be true,
and days crawl slower, with the coming of the sun,
don't be suspicious of the feelings that I may offer,
because, the mind behind my eyes, can see but one.

Wow Barry...although I realize this poem may be from the archives...this is absolutely beautiful...how did you ever get to be that talented? I think I'll add this one to my faves! ! Hugs, Dee
