One Run, One Hit, Two Errors! Poem by Barry Van Allen

One Run, One Hit, Two Errors!

She is the mother of my current attitude,
and she's allowed to hate me,
... because I ran away from her,
- - - but, you can trust me when I say,
YOU are NOT allowed to hit her!

I don't give a damn how married that you think you are,
you're not wed enough to lay your fist on her,
without mine being just as loving,
and as giving... right there in your face!

You are a walking, talking platitude,
and why she ever had,
anything to do with you,
- - - is a mystery to me!

Make NO mistake about it,
when I decide to pay attention to your life,
YOU will not enjoy it!

Perhaps, I know the answers,
to some of what I've said,
and some things, maybe not - - -
but, I truly have the answer,
to one thing!
... and you don't want to know it!

As near as I can figure,
she never did deserve,
what she got,
from either one of us.
