One Damn Good Friend Poem by Vision Ghost

One Damn Good Friend

Please don’t assume I don’t know, I’ve seen that look before
Been to a few places in my time, I swear your fighting a war
So put down your guns down, and raise up your heart instead
It’s just not our style to keep this going, for what she said

Drown your frustrations and walk with me, for a few moments
I’m not going anywhere so may as well, lend you my comments
But hearing your words first, would be a good place to start
Let’s explore this and open up, to me this glorious form of art

Put two minds together and focus, on something of newest designs
Tremendous isn’t it? When at least you can divulge a few lines
Splashing out on a few drinks, and sticking by your every word
Perspectives meet this way, and also amusing even when absurd

Watch the horizon light up together, as the morning is a new day
And see how much ground we have covered, in finding a new way
Nothing but the truth here, amidst a hurtful world of cynical smiles
Use an emotion as a method, and focus on such articulate styles

Drawing your picture, of such many elaborations and now you see
What the point of last night was, when she said, “I want to be free.”
I heard your heart break and your confidence snap, but you’re alive
Whatever be the future for people like us, lets live instead of strive

When the week is so long, and the weekends fly like a jet fighter
At least take these moments, as the memory last always forever
I made you some tea, so get it in you, and start to warm the heart
For when you know you come to this, nothing can tear you apart

Drifted off into distant thoughts, before returning to this reality
Funnily enough the two both sides of this mind, ran like a simile
For I know that when something beautiful, comes to an end
I have someone to call who I regard, as one damn good friend
