One Day I Will Poem by Juan Olivarez

One Day I Will

Rating: 5.0

One day I will.
One day I'll take the chance,
Just to see how it will feel.
To sleep all day as if in a trance,
One day I will.

One day I won't get up,
I'll lock my door and hide.
Of responsibilities I've had enough,
It will be as if I had died.
One day I will.

One day I'll just get lost,
And drive for miles out to nowhere.
No matter what may be the cost,
And leave this lazy chair.
One day I will.

One day I will run nude,
On some lonely hidden beach.
No one will dare call me a prude,
When they see me run without a stitch.
One day I will.

One day I will,
One day my pen I'll let it lay,
And run a marathon up hill.
Boston, or New York, just far away,
One day I will.

One day I will,
I'll buy myself a new sports car,
Just to give myself a thrill.
And see how fast I burn that tar,
One day I will.

One day I will.
