One Last Poem Poem by Christal Carpenter

One Last Poem

Rating: 0.5

You always did have away
of making me feel bad about
the things I am proud of,
and maybe I do miss you
but only a little.
'Cause you would never
say what I wanted you to.
I wanted you to be proud of me,
to think of me as more
then some dumb blond.
But I guess you never will
and I don't think I care.

I learn allot from you
and I thank you for that.
I learned that drama
isn't everything,
and a single kiss
could mean more
then a dozen roses.
You meant allot to me then,
but not much any more.
You hurt me to much.

I do not regret anything
that happened in your room.
But maybe I should have waited,
'cause I use it to keep you
and it didn't work.
But then what can I say now,
I'm just another notch in your belt.

I hope you had fun,
and from time to time
please think of me.
'cause I really did love you
and I know you never loved me
or you wouldn't let me go.

So here's to being just friends
and not even talking.
(though talking more then
we did when we were dating)
So maybe I wished you missed me.
but now we're over and through
and some how I know
you're going to find
something wrong
with this poem.
