One More Day Poem by Randy McClave

One More Day

One more day and I will be married
One more day and over the threshold she'll be carried,
Then she will be forever my wife
And she'll be my partner for the rest of my life.
My money then won't be my money anymore
It'll be our money as we shop in the store,
And then of course there will be more debts and bills
And then of course we will change our wills.
Then we will become the very same soul
As we will also share the same remote control,
And then when we dress we won't dress for another
We then will always dress for easy other.
Then we will both have more family and friends
And then also more odds and ends,
And then will have more ideas and memories to share
Together as one we will then say the same prayer.
Maybe then I won't be much of a grouch
Since then she'll be at my side and with me in the house,
I promise never to make her mad or cause her to frown
So, I won't ever forget to keep the toilet seat down.
My way of life will forever change
And at first I will see and feel it as odd and strange,
But, it will be welcomed and accepted
From my soul and heart it will never be rejected.
One more day and I won't be a free man
One day day I will forever change my living plan,
Now in less than 24 hours, "I Do" I will say
As I think, it's just one more day.
