Each day I live as if my last
To give the world the best of me
I seize every moment to make a blast
Exploit every opportunity a step at a time
I rise and fall after every step
I take a crawl when I cannot walk
Though there may be no one to help
I won't give up my race, mindless the talk
With my finest days yet unborn
To taste the sweet I swallowed the pain
I could still trust though my fingers got burn
I paid the price for every gain
Never alone but I'm only one
I strive to be the best I could
My heart is broken and I'm forewarn
I still could love the way I should
Though life has taken its toll on me.
Yet through it all I remain true to who I am.
Taking each day a step at a time.
To strive daily to be the very best.
My deepest fear I vowed to face.
I set my faith the storm to brace.
I fought my way to free my race.
The future I see is where I base.
I lay down my life to live again.
Dwell in the dark to feel the light.
I take the path other dread,
To capture every chance to advance myself.
I live each day as it comes
To take one step at a time
Though my dreams be a mile away
By and by I'll get there
When I take a step at a time.

Apparently, the poem is a presentation of the poet's road-map for success 'Though my dreams be a mile away'. Much impressed by your practical approach, Dave. Thanks. I paid the price for every gain To capture every chance to advance myself. To take one step at a time
