One True Friend Poem by Marlena Rose

One True Friend

Here am I,
My most loyal friend.
Here to comfort you;
To help your heart to mend.

My sleeve is clean,
Should it be needed
To wipe your tears.
My ear is freed, and

I await your worried words.
Forever, my dear, I shall be
Right beside you,
Holding you close to me.

I shall hold your head
Above the deadly tide.
I shall listen to you,
Granting wisdom in stride.

I love you, my blood,
May you never forget
The one who dried your cheeks
When they came to me wet.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I write a lot of depressing stuff, so I figured I'd change the tone a little.
