One's Spirituality Poem by ER Bron Chiong, RSW

One's Spirituality

One's Spirituality

this depends mostly on one's personality
the reality of beliefs perceived on a higher level
seems to work for one's own advantage
from among the variety of institutions
that derives from existing religions
or patterned after these teachings--
the chanting for health and happiness
among the Japanese's sect of Nichiren;
a composite group of African voodoo
with Roman Catholicism called Santeria;
a pantheon of many different gods
representing Brahmin of Hinduism;
an option to choose from among the many
Christian congregations of all sorts
makes this unending struggle a big reality
for us to determine the very best way
in finding the missing link back to you
thank you, Lord, for your kindness
and loving mercy for all of humanity--
you decided to send your one and only son
to reveal your unconditional love to us
and show us the right path of truth
not these practices can ultimately save
but only a personal relationship with you
through faith in Jesus, the savior alone
