Onomatopoeia Poem by ER Bron Chiong, RSW

Onomatopoeia

What a strange term
in the English language
six-syllable word
talks much about sounds

Tik-tak-toe--
the clock beats it hands
Bow-wow-wow
barks the angry dog

Tweet-tweet-tweet
I heard the sparrow chirps
Miao-miao-miao
Reply the hungry cat

Such a vast language
Unique to each one's ear
Relays a vital message
To each who wants to hear

Proud to be one
in the league of the mortals
pave the one sure way
for everyone of us to convey

don't be a frighten kitty
nor a boastful li0n's roar
but be a soaring eagle
with wings stretch high in the sky
