Only- If Only Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Only- If Only

If only the words spoken were only
Only one sought by all and never lonely
A dream, a wish, an endless story
Peaceful words that waylay the spirit ever soaring

Resting beside an ideal thought
Who has spoken an unheard word
None, have come to breach the castle
Only sounds of lovely birds

Sweet innocence of wishing only
Eager fervor has misbegotten ways
Embracing beauty before the fire
Passion for the heartless, only takes

One is only a heartfelt number
Fewer words spoken leave a heart that aches
Where love must ask the only question
Truly meant shall never fade
