Only one spark and

How long shall we remain oppressed?
how long our voice shall remain suppressed?
will no one hear our heart's cry?
why not we give one more earnest try?
there is justice
there is a promise
I have seen burning fire
in their eyes to rise further
only one spark
to start
for the revolution
to strengthen the nation
has our soul died?
or our expectations are belied
we have never tried
only remained passive and lied
rapist get away
murderers stay
in the prestigious position
it is watched by helpless population
will judiciary prevail?
or fail
with delayed justice
should I see it before the demise?

The third para contains the true desire of all. We need that single spark, to make all the difference... TFS. Annapurna Sharma, Nellore, Aug 02,2019

Aptly said, sir. History is a witness when the nation has risen on many occasion. Just that spark is needed. Sangeeta Das, Guwahati, Assam, Aug 02,2019

I would like to translate this poem
A very good poem on the sad state to which the country is slipping into- When lawmakers (MLA) themselves commit rape and do everything in their power to silence voices for justice what can one hope for? Appears to be no light at the end of the tunnel in the near future. Rajeev Moothedath, Bangalore, Aug 02,2019
