Only You Poem by Grace Burke

Only You

When the night turns into day
And the darkness fades away
When the golden rays of sun
Let me know the days begun.

When the dew is on the lawn
Soon after the break of dawn
It's when I know I'm whole
After surviving midnight's toll.

The ebony of the blackest night
Has faded from my visual sight
The dawn has brought your love to me
And from my darkness set me free.

So let me bask within the light
Forgetting the loneliness of the night
Let me start this day anew
In the love I have for only you.
