Onus Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Onus

Naivety sans feminine,
synonymous of human malefic;
rudimentary element per rib,
yet quantified birth prolific;
gendering assumptions aside,
beings male rank less specific;
idealization wistful fantasy,
matrilinear disputes unscientific.

Inculpation placed;
ascribe this twist upon the ultimate male;
amolition genetically shelved,
quintessence examen assail;
adeption, pure truth doubts reveal,
egotism an unholy grail;
abjuration whispered since,
time's spite, rusty tenpenny nail.

Prejudiced unperfected consciousness,
self-worth equated dearth;
pillar, one's false pride,
life's prescripts compeers unearth;
unduly sworn through demotic swarms,
all-embracing undermirth;
avowed defense supposure oppugned,
levity, bid halfpennyworth.

Genesis bloated cognizance,
skin deep, lays truth impulsive;
psychosis cautions constituent,
clarity, is mindless abstersive;
sentiently stuffed, creations mirth,
blind and arrogative;
rendered purpose poorly poised,
of thought, quidnuncs siccative.

Sufferance denial demurrer spoke,
jokes on, oh dear reality;
justifiably piled feces stench,
outdating shameful modality;
protracted persecutions earned,
hint, distinctive generality;
retribution is onus pure;
beyond belief, extraterritoriality.
