Open Those Tear Stained Eyes Poem by Warren Augustus de Guzman

Open Those Tear Stained Eyes

A single ray of sunshine breaks through the clouds...
illuminating the end of a long and winding road.
It beckons the imagination to see beyond the horizon...
and past the pitch black aftermath of one rainy episode.

The ray of light reveals a path beyond the shoddy surroundings...
a path that leads to the end of a long and drawn out sadness.
It captures the imagination and brings forth the sweetest hope...
the kind that comes in the aftermath of pain thought to be ceaseless.

At once the ray bounces off a point too far to be clearly seen...
and radiates from that end, to where you stand in silent mutiny.
Against all odds your imagination has brought you through the pain...
all that is left is a most deserved aftermath you earned so ably.

The ray illuminates you from the inside and out...
and ends all feelings of pain, and doubt charged with fear.
You fail now to imagine the sorry state you were in before...
an aftermath so far away, as far as a light year.

Rays now emanate from you as you break free of the clouds...
ending any disbelief that you could not have done so on your own.
Imagine what would have happened if you had faltered on the road...
an aftermath so opposite of what you now righteously own.

Not bad I oike how you repeat certain lines or ideas like the aftermath at the ends and rays at the beggining
