Upon a firm shut door
I eagerly knock and knock
I pray, plead and implore
A passive heart to unlock
Yet the souls imposing portal
Offers no notable response
Not a stir, a hush nor a rustle
Just a cold emphatic repulse
Is it stigma or aversion
That a soul does scare
From returning affection
Offered in earnest care
Forlorn captivated heart
Fettered by conventions
Do cut loose and exert
Free will, and true emotions
Fall to the depths of love
Rise to our greatest prime
Blessed of the Lord above
Live to the zenith of our time
Pray do open your heart
In faith boldly step forth
Set two souls into one part
Sincerely I plight my troth.
Piece of great elegance, well articulated in poetic diction and nicely penned from the heart. An earnest plea seeking for the blissful voyage of love. Thanks for sharing Ricky. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
''And, when love speaks, the voice of all the gods makes heaven drowsy with the harmony'' - Shakespeare, Love's Labour's Lost, Act IV, Scene III thanks for sharing, Ricky

I am not going to continue knocking on that old door that doesn't open for me. I'm going to create my own door and walk through it.
