Openness Poem by Sarah HudsonPierce

Openness

We start on our Journey
Of openness-
One day at a time-
Timid—
Frightened-
Scared—
Afraid to reach out-
To unveil the Secret chambers
Of our hearts.
Tiny steps We inch along-
Removing the shutters
That hide our fears-
Reaching out-
Touching—
Until an impasse Is removed-
Running fast-
Arms outstretched-
Open wide—
The gates
In both our hearts-
Awakening—
Unafraid—
Seeing—
The burdens we bear—
And hide within
Are there In full detail
In each other's Hearts!
