Ophidiophobia Poem by Ima Ryma

Ophidiophobia

Ophidiophobia is
Having an extreme fear of snakes,
Which I have, don't know why, gee whiz,
A bummer on my life it makes.
The word comes from the Greek, I guess.
The term, 'phobia, ' meaning fear,
And the term, 'ophis, ' means snake, yes,
A common condition, I hear.
But having it does make me curse
Why I should have such a bad case.
What makes my matter all the worse,
A mirror and I come face to face.

I look into that mirror and see
That a scary snake I do be.
