Optics Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Optics

As long as plastic cast mannequins,
Are presented to window dress diversity.
The importance of optics prioritized,
To spotlight these colorful views...
Will stay to remain as attractive as possible.
And inviting to all.
With no one disappointed by the presentation.
Or what has been exquisitely designed.
And up close to marvel at the display.
However...
They are not permitted or allowed,
Behind the scenes to witness who benefits.
From the delusions created to manufacture.
With so few representing,
To sell to those most likely to spend...
Out of pocket for the optics.
But not receive a dividend for being,
Used to promote...
A window dressing of diversity.
To believe and accept it to exist.
