When temperatures were hot, orchard beach was the spot
I remember as a kid, used to go there a lot
The walk from the entrance, was a little long
Then the grassy areas appeared, and the smell of sea was strong
I used to go on early mornings, when few people were there
The seagulls rejoiced, at the coolness in the air
The sea was pleasant, and the sand stony white
The waves were mellowed, all through the night
Those were the times, when orchard beach was supreme
When little kids like myself, would jump in the water and scream
When orchard filled up, it was a sea of humanity
But when it started to empty, it was pure tranquility
Orchard beach was my favorite, since I lived so near
I hope to visit again, when the sun's crystal clear.
