Ordinary Moments - Poem by Ron Setal
I sit around wondering, what is it about you that makes you so special to me. Was it the many nights of intimacy we shared or something more? I've come to realize that those nights were no more than tiny shards of glass that when put together created a grander, more illustrious tapestry. It begins with me waking up next to you and seeing that smile. Then slowly counting the moments, when I couldn't breath because you had taken my breath away with your eyes or lips. Then remembering every moment that with a soft whisper, a single sound, or just the echo of your voice erased all my problems, my hurts, my pains. Further on down are the moments when you crossed my mind, like you are doing right now. Every moment you held my hand, each touch, each kiss. But most off all it was the moment you told me you loved me, for it is my most cherished memory. And even though we are not together anymore it's these very extra ordinary moments that I can't live without. Because without them I could not exist, and without you the tapestry that is my life would be nothing more than mere shards of glass.
